DHL chooses DataChecker as partner for personnel verification

Improving the personnel verification of (new) employees. With that goal, DataChecker will start its services on October 1 DHL eCommerce, known for delivering packages to individuals and businesses. In this way, DataChecker helps DHL eCommerce to continue to comply with the strict regulations surrounding employment.

The decision to engage market leader DataChecker was made in June this year. Like many organizations, DHL also noticed that developments in the field of identity verification are moving very fast and are increasing in number. “It is becoming increasingly complex for an organization to stay up-to-date, for example with regard to changes in legislation and innovative verification methods,” says Henri Bakhuis, Director OPS Compliance & Security at DHL eCommerce Benelux. Together with Roelof Hofman (COO) and Rabab Boulakhrif (Director Franchise Management), he was closely involved in the choice for DataChecker.

Proven track record

DHL’s need for a reliable and thorough verification process is extra great because of the Chain Liability Act. This states that all parties in a chain can be held liable for incorrect employment. “Our good name in the market starts with good employment practices for all our employees; also if they are employed by a DHL Service Partner,” says COO Hofman. “It is crucial for us to optimize our compliance and operational processes in the field of identity and document verification. That is why we looked for a reliable party to support us in this; a specialist with a proven track record in that field.”

DataChecker was chosen because of its expertise and experience, gained in collaborations with other logistics companies. “We will ensure that DHL’s Cityhub employees are thoroughly checked prior to their employment,” says Joe Bloemendaal, CEO of DataChecker. “We verify identity documents via our SecureIDLink. Depending on the nationality, we request additional employment documents. With our FaceVerify software, we also check the similarities between the person and the photo on the identity document.”

Periodic checks

It doesn’t stop at a check before the employee starts. DataChecker also carries out periodic checks during the employment, so that DHL is continuously assured of meeting the requirements of the labor inspectorate. “In this way, we proactively help DHL to prevent risks in the area of ​​chain liability and fraud prevention,” says Bloemendaal, who is proud of the brand-new collaboration. “DHL is practically the largest player in parcel delivery. We are honored that they have confidence in our innovative approach to personnel verification.”
