Heavy fines for speed delivery drivers due to illegal workers

Speed delivery drivers under the microscope

The rise of instant delivery services has shaken up the market, but also attracted the attention of regulators. Checks have revealed that several companies did not meet the requirements for employing foreign workers. The violations included employing people without a valid work permit.

High fines as a warning

Companies that violate the rules risk heavy sanctions. The total fines in this case amount to €492.000. This signal from the Labour Inspectorate shows that strict action is being taken against employers who do not comply with the rules.

“Do you work with foreign workers? Make sure you comply with the correct regulations to avoid high fines!”

Impact on the sector

These fines underscore the need for payday couriers and other platform economy companies to take compliance seriously. Stricter controls mean employers need to tighten their processes and gain a better understanding of the applicable legislation.
