HappyNurse

Flexbureau HappyNurse: “The link between DataChecker and our system is ideal”

“Our name says it all,” says Jeroen Hansen, IT manager at HappyNurse. “We help healthcare professionals find a job that they really enjoy – whether they are temporary workers, students, seconded workers or self-employed people.” He calls HappyNurse’s digital platform “essential” for this. Just like DataChecker’s role on that platform. What exactly does this role entail?

“I chose the challenge,” Jeroen answers when asked why he started working at HappyNurse. He immediately explains what was so challenging about this flex agency: “HappyNurse used to be one of the labels of the temporary employment agency Staffing Associates. And I was responsible for the IT of all these labels since 2015. Until they all became independent in 2020. Then I was allowed to choose which of these ‘new’ companies I wanted to work for. And I chose HappyNurse. They were most concerned with innovation, with digitalization. And I wanted to keep my work as interesting as possible.

Right partner

His work certainly remained interesting. “Our board quickly decided that HappyNurse needed a new digital platform,” says Jeroen. “Until then, every label used the same standard software to match job seekers with employers. HappyNurse wanted software that focused more specifically on the healthcare sector – from hospitals and mental health care to daycare centers.” When the label became independent, it decided to look for that. “I was given the task of exploring the market. But I couldn’t find suitable software anywhere.”

That brought plan B into view. “We decided to develop a digital platform ourselves.” Jeroen really enjoyed being involved in this development. And involving the right partners – including DataChecker. “I knew them from my early years: via our software provider at the time, they checked the IDs of the professionals we wanted to put in our system for us. Later, that provider hired another company for this. That was not our choice and we thought that was a shame: we were very satisfied with DataChecker.”

Best feeling

With that positive experience in mind, Jeroen called DataChecker in 2020. “Whether they wanted to link their system to our platform in development. And whether they wanted to check not only the validity of uploaded IDs, but also the right to employment: the Right to Work Check.” Jeroen asked the same question to another party. “But I had the best feeling with DataChecker. They also responded the most enthusiastically and were happy to think along about the best way to make the link. So we went into business with them. I have not regretted it for a moment.”

What did that ‘thinking along’ look like? “For example, DataChecker came up with a test environment to see if the link would work. And clearly indicated how we could best submit documents online for the Right to Work Check.” DataChecker continued to think along later. “For example, we now want to enable healthcare professionals to upload their documents to our system themselves. Including photos for the ID check. Carefully, safely and preferably via their mobile phone, as they prefer. DataChecker turned out to have an excellent tool for this: the Secure ID Link. So we will be using that soon.”

Pleasant contact

“The link between DataChecker’s system and our platform is ideal,” says Jeroen. “As soon as documents are uploaded, they go directly to DataChecker for the Right to Work Check. So we don’t have to click on anything to send them, let alone log in to another system. In addition, we receive clear feedback from DataChecker on our own platform. They usually tell us within a few minutes whether documents are approved or not, with a brief explanation where necessary. So we don’t have to log in anywhere else for this either.”

Jeroen receives a monthly report from DataChecker. “This includes, for example, how many checks they have performed.” He also receives regular newsletters and there is an annual evaluation interview – at HappyNurse or at DataChecker. “We also look ahead in this; whether there are any wishes, possibilities or interesting developments,” says Jeroen. “For the rest, the contact is a bit on demand. If I have a question, I call. And if they want to share something, they do. We don’t knock on each other’s doors, but none of us feel the need to do that. It feels good the way it is.”

Very neat

What Jeroen also really likes is that DataChecker never gives him the feeling that other customers are more important. “On the contrary – while we are certainly not their largest customer. They always respond quickly, friendly and professionally. Their checks are accurate. And they like to go the extra mile. For example, when we developed our platform, we had a lot of contact to get the connection with their system right. They never sent an invoice for that. Super neat, I think.” He certainly recommends DataChecker. “They are very reliable and helpful. What more do you look for in a collaboration?”
